It started on a cool spring day in 2017, when a friend brought me to Forum, a small specialty coffee shop on Plac Zbawiciela in Warsaw, Poland. At the time, they served coffee exclusively through AeroPress, prepared by the reigning Polish AeroPress Champion.

I ordered an Ethiopian coffee.

That cup changed the course of my life.

I had never experienced coffee expressing itself quite like that before. It sparked a curiosity that has stayed with me ever since: a desire to understand how a coffee can reveal so much character, complexity, and sense of place in a single cup; and how to create more experiences like the one I had that day.

That curiosity eventually became the foundation of Telos Coffee.

Over the years, I worked in coffee to better understand the industry, continually developing my palate and refining what I wanted from coffee. I then spent two years teaching myself the craft of roasting before I felt confident enough in the product to put my name behind it and open Telos.

Today, that same curiosity still guides what we do. We source thoughtfully from respected and reputable producers, pursue coffees with distinctive character, and roast in a Nordic style with a relentless focus on quality, clarity, and expression.

Ultimately, Telos is about sharing the experience that started all of this: a cup of coffee compelling enough to make you stop, pay attention, and wonder what else coffee can be.

The Telos Approach to Coffee Roasting

At Telos, we believe great coffee begins long before it reaches the roaster. Sourcing is at the heart of what we do, and we strive to build lasting relationships with the suppliers and producers whose work makes every cup possible.

Our goal is to honor and uplift the people who grow the coffees we serve. The work begins with them, with their land, knowledge, and dedication. Our role as roasters is to take what they have created and thoughtfully translate it through a Nordic-style light roast, preserving the character of the coffee and allowing its origin, variety, and process to speak for themselves.

We approach roasting as lifelong learners. Through curiosity, reflection, and strong relationships, we continually refine our methods while staying grounded in a simple idea: great roasting begins with great coffee, and great coffee begins with the people who produce it.
